International Relations
Since 2009 up to now, Kien Giang Technology and Economics College (KGTEC) frequently strengthen and set up the cooperation with domestic and foreign organizations to enhance and innovate the quality of training in order to develop human resources for the province in particular and the whole country in general.
KGTEC is one of the members of domestic organizations such as: Association of Technical and Economic Colleges (ATEC) and Vietnam Association of Community Colleges (VACC). The above Associations are the professional and social organizations. They work for mutual benefits to protect the right and legal benefits of the memberships. Becoming the member of the Association offers the opportunities and facilitate for the Colleges to assist and co-operate together.
In particular, KGTEC has been linking with foreign organizations. Specifically, in December 2009, The College has signed a cooperation agreement with Kunming University of Science and Technology (China) that helps College’s teachers and students to have the chances learning postgraduate courses. Currently, we have selected four teachers to study abroad in which there are three Master courses and one Doctor course. In addition, we also organize the workshops to consult for students about studying in China so that they can catch more information.
In December 2010, KGTEC along with ATEC organizes a Science seminar about solutions and experiences in internationally cooperative relations of education and training. At the seminar, there are many opinions as well as the sharing experiences from the members of ATEC and World University Service of Canada (WUSC).
In May 2011, KGTEC and Japanese language Center hold together a meeting to introduce essential information about studying in Japan to our students.
Specially, in November 2011, took interest from VACC and the collaboration of WUSC, we welcomed a Canadian volunteer, Mr John Matthewman, to our College to assist work for Informatics Faculty and Foreign language Center. He supported and exchanged experiences related to method of teaching and learning English for teachers and students in two weeks. Moreover, he guided Informatics teachers how to design the website with the English interface. Plus, he also set up the E-learning software and instructed for all staffs of the College the way using it.
Through achievements, we would like to continue receiving foreign volunteers with various majors so that the College can be supported necessary work. This is also a best way to hone communication skills for our teachers and students in the coming time.
At present, KGTEC is continuing to expand and promote cooperative relationships with domestic and foreign organizations in oder to improve the quality of education – training and develope human resources steadily.
